Been roling around the idea of getting another 6 or 6.5 light kicking handy varmint getter. Haven't had any thing under .308 caliber in some time. The boy, now 25 is not useing the 308 Ruger compact I got when he was 9. So looking at a old box of 110gr
I used to make mouse fart loads with. I thought I might try some of them with some more zip. Worked up some with h4198. The book shows 42.5gr at 3278 with a 24"barrel, the compact is 16.5". I was expecting about 3000fps but was getting 3110fps. 
A .290 coefficient zeroed at 300yds should give me about 10"PBRange of 350yds just right for dogs I'm thinking. A little more tinkering to tighten up the to a constant 1/2" or less, I should be good to go.
