How are people making their 30BR cases? I was thinking that necking up 7mmBR would be the simplest route but that brass seems to be a bit difficult to find. 6mmBR cases can obviously be necked up but they will end up thinner and more prone to splitting than their bigger cousin.

I make my own 30BR brass from 7mmBR brass. I found someone who had about 250 once fired 7mmBR brass and purchased the lot from him as he is not a handloader. Got a neck mandrel to go from 7mm to .308 and a 30BR full length sizing die. I have to turn the necks as my reamer is for the 30BR Robinette which has the tight neck but other than that the brass seems to work fine. I have 6BR brass for another gun but have not used any of that to make 30BR brass so I can't comment on any difference between the two.

I fired my 30br brass more then 20 times, my primer pockets got lose but I never had a neck crack, I simply necked up 6mmbr norma brass in one pass through the 30BR sizer die and then neck turned, trimmed to a even 1.500 inch and loaded and shot.

If you have a standard chamber cut with a trim to length of 1.515 then loading the case with 10 grains of unique and filling with cream of wheat will stretch the case as it forms and you will have to trim back to 1.515, if you just run it in a sizer die it will shrink to 1.500 give or take....
