Ok couldn't find anything using the search feature..so I not to familiar with scopes, outside the basics. I am wondering if someone can enlighten me on what diffferences one would be dealing with between these tube sizes, any differnce in optical performace??? Just not too sure if one is better than the other.. No size jokes please, lol..:dancingbanana:

I bought my first 30mm (Leupold 1.25-4x25). Excellent. I'm looking for 30mm from now on. (But the mounts are more expensive)

Actually that is not true according to reps from some of the scope manufacturers. The biggest advantage of a 30mm tube is more internal adjustment,as has already been posted.

X2...With Leupold scopes the 30mm tube does not offer any more measurable light transmission as the lenses are similar in diameter to the 1" scopes. The light transmission is controlled by the diameter of the objective lense and the magnification your scope is set to (divide the magnification number into the the objective lense size and you will get your exit pupil measurement in mm) Phil.
