I had 7 Brand New Diemaco C7 mags wile I was on Tour, I crushed a Few of my other Issued ones, so I got new ones. I found with the new mags I was getting stopages with them, I had a C8 FTHB and It diddn't like the new mags.
30 was good, cuz when I loaded a mag, Readyied it, I could do a press check and see that the next round is on the left side so I knew if a round was in my chamber, Now I could be tricked cuz with the new mags I allways found the top round missing out of it and I check my vest to find it.... Left my mags upside down in my vest.
I am wondering how far you can press the rounds down.
Do they move down only a little, or do they move down a lot?
Curious about how many you can jam in because it will tell me what I want to know.
A standard size 30 round AR mag will only have a few mm of extra "play" available if fully loaded with 30 rounds. I never found one that you could ever come close to stuffing an extra round in.
That also depends on the brand, or better said on the type of the mag body.
Usualy with 30 rnds in it, you would be able to feel a play 3 - 5 mm up to the moment the plunger will bottom out.
I have heard of people filling the lower part of the plunger (on some models it is possible), but as the coils of the spring might touch, I would not recommend it since it fcuks with the reliability.
And I strongly doubt that they will be able to squeeze an extra round.
We had some that would take an extra.....Caused delays on one match as a newish troop kept trying to put a "31" round mag into a C7 with the bolt forward.
Needless to say that it didn't work. We were down one gun for a 4 person stage......
