.310 123 grain jacketed bullets for .303 plinking?.

I've been loading these with 32gr of D4198 in my Enfield no4 .303.
They group well at 50yds, which is all I was looking for in a short range plinking load. They shoot about 2" high at 50yds compared to my typical 180gr hunting loads.
32gr gets me 2400fps and is very mild on the brass especially if you neck size.

Great deal and perfect way to shoot .303 on the cheap.

My D4198 .308 loads also shoot well but don't cycle my M14 so I reserve them for my Remington bolt and pump guns. At the mild load I shoot them I'm not worried about squeezing a .310 down a .308 bore. They are also easy on the brass and likewise shoot a bit high. That's 35gr of D4198 for 2700ish fps out of the .308.

Nice! That opens up a whole lot of options when you go to the .308 bore. Mild loads only though, as you stated.

In my no 4 .303 the 35 gr load hits about 2" high at 50 yards and 4" high at 100. With the original military sights. Sounds pretty much the same as you are experiencing.

I also neck size only, using the Lee collet die. The rounds can be a little tougher to chamber, but its worth it for the extended life. How many reloads do you get out of your brass? (I'm using the PRVI)

I love these dominion powders, pretty much half price. Will have to get some 4064 next time, lots of uses for that.
