310gr Aussie Bear Repellent for my 35Whelen

You have to test them at increasing ranges to know what happens.
I hope to do that - good advice.
...with the heaviest being a 287 grain bullet.
I'm guessing the Lyman 3589 (aka 358009) ??? Those are good hunting bullets I gather. Kelly likes it lots. I've used a few of these myself in my 14 twist AI.
My 350WSM is a 12 twist as is my 358Win - so I'll be trying the 310s in those shooters too.

Whelen B. ; 358009 is right. Good hunting and target bullet. Would you like to try some ? PM me if you would. I have also had great results with 358318 for accuracy.

I have been watching for a Lyman 3589 mould on eBay for a few years and when they come up it is staggering to see how much a single cavity mould can go for. I did find one listed on a web site in Australia years ago but again the price was a bit too high for me.

Silverback: They show up from time to time. I got the last one on this forum in the exchange about a year ago. I think the gent charged me $60 for it and it's a 2 cavity. Hard to tell if it was ever used or not when I received it. That was a bit cheaper than the one (also a 2 cavity) I acquired from a contact in the states a few years ago but it was the dollar exchange at the time that made it more.
My 358318 is just a single cavity (also off this forum) and I would like to find a 2 cavity in that one to speed things up. Running two moulds at a time certainly increases the output.

My son just acquired a nice 35 Winchester so I think he'll be wanting some of them from time to time.

Yes I've noticed. The economics now suggest to me that a custom mould would be the way to go - less $$$. Unless you luck out and get one without the high collector's surcharge as Stocker has done.

I've got a few hundred on my bench. I have a local small time commercial caster that has the mould make them for me - but thanks lots anyway.

wow, more than a dollar per bullet! ..

Not cheap, but - amazingly - cheaper than MidwayUSA, who want $66.99/box. Huntingdon's - also in the US - is $49.98, so Corlane's isn't out of line. Not that we can order from either US supplier anyway, but they often have depressingly good prices.
