311 313

I have 2 - P14 rifles, one in 303, the other has been rechambered to 303 Epps. I have slugged both barrels, and they are so close to .313" groove diameter that it is not funny. I use Steve Redgwell's 200 grain softpoint Mark9 bullet sized at .313" and it works perfectly. Only a new, aftermarket barrel will have the .311" groove diameter. Regards, Eagleye.

That's odd...
My surplus #4 has a barrel that slugs out at exactly .311, and has a war-time tube on it (not matching, but it's war-time production. I will admit I got extremely lucky). However, It still shoots the "oversize" slugs just fine, I just load down 10% and work up again. I write these loads down and keep them separate from the other .303 loads.

Lately, however, my .313-.314" bullets are being used for my Mosin (my luck ran out with this one, it has a .314" bore).
