I picked up a brick of these today and was wondering if anyone had used them. They are a copper plated hollow point hyper velocity ammo. I like AE22 so I figured I would buy some of these.
 
I've personally never seen them for sale or even heard of them, but sure as #### I would give them a "test drive" if I ever see them. You can't say your pistol or rifle shoots as well as it could until you've used every type of ammo available. How much did you pay for them and where did you pick them up?? Just curious as I am in the NWT and will be driving out soon to several places down south (alberta and sask) and will be keeping an eye out for some.
 
I was at WSS in Saskatoon and they just got a shipment it. I checked the bill and they were $27.99 plus tax for a brick.

how does the KE compare to a 36-38 grain high-velocity bullet and the 32 grain stingers/segmented @ 100 yards?

I would have expected a heavier bullet in a hunting load?

I will have to keep my eyes open for a brick. Way cheaper than the CCI hypers.
 
From looking on federals site they have 75 ft/lbs energy at 100 yards.... Stingers and quick shocks are 81 ft/lbs. Velocity is fairly close also.

Stingers and quick shoks do shoot a little bit flatter but for double the cost the federals are probly a better deal.
 
I tried a box last year, they are great on the gophers with no ricochet's. I bought the last brick from WSS last fall and would buy more when I get the chance, I was happy to see them in bulk for 26.oo when I paid 3.99 for 50 at CT.

did wss just get more federal ammo in, or just game shoks? I was there on monday and i didn't see any federal stuff (was looking for some standard vel. stuff, and i only could find winchester t22 there).
 
I stopped by today and it looked like all they had on the shelf for federal ammo was the game-shock stuff. I would've liked to see some of the american eagle stuff or champion 40gr lrn... but no luck on those.

oh but of course. i'm hoping the lower weight won't have so many through and throughs, though i don't really know how terminal ballistics work, so the complete opposite might happen. i think i'm gonna fill some pop cans with sand too and shoot them with a few different rounds, see if i can get expanded bullets and compare. i just dont really know where to get sand these days. it seems that alot of playgrounds are switching to some sort of rubber mat.

Use gophers for a test media.;)
 
so i'm back from the farm. there weren't many gophers there, didn't even go through a mag, and that includes misses! but we did bag afew. i had no body shots though so it was hard to know how effective they were. my first or second one though didn't go through and through, so all the energy went into the gopher. I shot it from the front and it did a flip almost all the way around and landed on his head from the energy. So for now, they work quite well, though they don't group as well as the american eagles.
