.32 & .36 Flint Lock???????

Am interested in these small bore BP. guns. I have limited BP. experience and none with a flinter.

What I would like to know is what to expect and what not to expect with the small bore's, How accurate can they be out to 50 & 100 meter's? Are they more difficult to load and clean?? Do they foul up quick? Where might I look to find one in CAN.?

32cal will foul up quickly. With both you can buy loose shot to use as ball. They can be as accurate as larger ball, it is all relative. If you have a TC Hawken or Lyman Hawken you can buy a Green Mountain replacement barrel from Track for around $230 shipped, duty in. That is what I did, but I bought a 40cal.

I would recommend a minimum of .40 cal for target shooting and .50 for hunting unless there is some reason for a small caliber. The really small calibers have limited range and are a nuisance to clean. They are accurate and cheap to shoot however.

32 is more short range and can be very accurate at 25 yard. Can be good for squirrel head shots or sitting rabbits.

i bought a custom rifle from tvw i a 32 and love it.lots of people will tell you the .32 fouls fast but i have tried 10 shots using only spit patch and worked fine.i feel if you can get that many your doing good but remember accuracy suffers if you dont clean .for this reason i try to stay with 5 shots then swab the barrel.as for picking a 36 i think it is a really matter of choice but if cost is a issue .32 is cheaper as for powder charges.as for distance iam working on 25yrds for now and feel a 75 yrd would be a max for me.a lot of accuracy depends on wind and it doesnt take much to throw it off.i have tried 2 pedersoli rifles and had problems with both.sent them back to shooters choice in ont.they look good but fell apart within 100 shots.if your into flintlocks i recommend a custom. for the money they shoot great. be careful of barrel drop ins from green mountain they use heli coils in some of their barrels and some don't just drop in like they say
