www.sportsmansguide.com sells these 32 ACP conversions units for 303 British, 300 Winchester, 30-06 and 308 Winchester for $ 15.- I do not know if sportsmansguide will ship those conversion units to Canada ?

Pre 1914 the brits also used a device called an aiming tube. Neat bit of kit. I saw a German issue set to fire .22 out of a k98 at our gun show a couple years back but didn't think it was worth $600
i have a few subcaliber inserts (all commercial ones). your looks like the one ACE made a few years ago.
my friend has an origional one for a 1903 springfield in .32short
they are fun to shoot and handy for taking small game or pests.

I made my own .32 caliber insert from a .303 British case (and saved money)

From the picture it looks like a rimmed case would fit best.

Want to know what happened to all those iming tubes?
Parker-Hale used them for REBAR when casting concrete bases for some of their machinery

These are my case fire forming and plinking loads, for fire forming I slip a rubber o-ring around the case and fire them at “zero” headspace. This prevents case stretching and thinning in the web area and when the rubber o-ring is compressed it “centers” the rear of the case in the chamber helping to align the case when fired.
(case alignment = accuracy)
NOTE: O-ring size depends on rim thickness and headspace of your rifle
What happens when you fire a case without the rubber o-ring, the case stretches and thins in the web area and your cases do not last long when reloaded.
The o-ring around the base of the .303 case at “zero” headspace.
The case after fire forming using the rubber o-ring method now headspaces on the shoulder and not the rim. Now all you do is neck size only and count how many times you can reload your cases. (try for over 30)

Hello Got to go! heres a picture of the bullet that was inside mine, its a .32 S&W ....but I think (not sure) theres other type (caliber) of insert.
Thanks for all the replies. I am reluctant to to using this insert, too many unknowns. There are no marking at all on it. I like bigedp51's set up. It would certainly be cheaper than buying pistol rounds. I have never fire formed any thing intentionally, but that's another story. Where do you put the O-ring, is it critical ? Someone was telling one time that you just put a bit of powder in the case and a bit of cotton batten in the neck. Is this true ? How much powder/type ?
