.32 or .36 for plinking

was thinking it'd be fun to have one of the above for informal plinking, maybe even for hunting partridge. have owned and shot both .50 and .54, but want one of the small ones. any idea where they can be had? the usual 'big box' stores and websites seem to only cater to the larger bores?

Buy a kit with a decent lock on it, and get some decent flints.

I would get the .36 because I suspect you would have fewer problems with fouling and know that it is easier to clean because of the larger hole

i been playing with a lil 32 cherokee all afternoon. first time ive had a BP gun so small.
pritty fun. i have been shooting a maxi, and had to swab the bore after 8 rounds. still tons of fun. 36 might be a bit easyer to shoot longer tho

X2 on the .35 caliber. They handle fouling better and you don't have a spindly ramrod.
A friend of mine had a H&A buggy underhammer in .36 and it was great to shoot

great input guys, am wondering about suppliers here in Canada, not sure if even kits can get through the border now.
was looking at the underhammers, it's a sweet looking rifle and percussion is what i'd prefer.
i'm going to keep looking, i did build an 1874 sharps replica from a kit and enjoyed the process, saw some google hits about a book on building an under hammer, so might have to go that route.

Long flintlocks come in the mail. No limits. no restrictions, until you do something stupid, like shoot in your yard in the city, then they are a firearm again.

Percussion guns are treated same as regular firearms. It will have to be registered when it becomes a firearm (kinda ill defined, but that's the way that goes...) New production BP handguns, are still and always handguns., subject to the same restrictions as cartridge handguns.

Track had been pretty good about mailing supplies and kits up to Canada.

I wouldn't limit myself to Canadian sources. Since something statistically near zero of the stuff is made here, one way or the other, it is imported.
