I have a yellow box of the domion CIL 32 Rf short ammo its in mint condition and the bullets instead of being lead coloured are copper diped or coloured.
Ive had it for years.

The Ammo seems kinda hot just wondering if anyone else has had and used this CIL Domion 32 Rf ammo with the copper coloured bullets ?

I shot some today and they seem to have alot more Power than other 32 rf ive had in the past.

As lead ages it oxidizes and becomes a compound that can be easily worn off by handling or any abrasion... the depth of the deterioration of the metallic lead is far greater than copper for the same length of time.
The reduction of mass may account for the difference in "kick".
My .25 cents worth.

I shot some Dominion cartridges similar to what you describe years back. They were copper plated or "washed", much the same as some varieties of .22 rimfire is today.

I don't remeMber them being hot but it was in a heavyish pistol so it wouldn't be as noticeable as it would be in a lighter pistol.

Interesting speculation, the only flaw is that the perceived "kick" should decrease with a smaller projectile mass assuming powder levels remain constant.

CIL produced this calibre and others with copper plated bts from 1970.

Ah thats it then the ammos alot newer than the stuff from the 30 and 40s with the lead coloured bullets so the batch is fresher.
Hence the bigger bang maby eh.
Im saveing the stuff because it really is more powerfull im sure of that.
At close range its deadly.

I have some older lead bullet CIL 32 rf shorts comeing soon so can compare penatration tests.
the 32 rf is all smokeless stuff that ive ever had.

i have had this stuff with a copper coloured bullet and i did not think it was hot. but most of the guns i shoot i use "long" ammo.

Union Metallic Cartridge started useing the "U" hs on RF ammo c1880. It merged with Remington in 1911 and continued to use the "U" hs.
