Hey guys, a friend of mine picked up a nice Marlin 336 RC at the Perth gun show and I was able to find him a set of dies there also. I've been reading up on this caliber. Information and load data are few. Diddo for bullet selection. Hornady has yet to sell the 165gr. FTX bullet it uses to make their Leverevolution cartridges. So I guess we'll have to go with Hornady's Interlock or Speer's Hot-Cor.

Let me know what you guys are using.

Here are a few more questions:

Have any of you tried reseizing 30-30 casings to reload or is 32 spl. brass still easy to find?

Can I use the Lee 30-30 case leght gage to trim 32 Spl. brass?

Have any of you used BL(c)2? I have found 3 different loads, using various levels of powder and one was using Magnum primers:confused:

P.S. We did pick up 17, old, Dominion cartridges for 5$ before we left the gun show :)

Look at Marstar (in the sponsors header). Last time I checked for a buddy, they had a good supply of Winchester .32 Special, and they're prices were very good. Lot's of luck and bon chance!

32 Win brass should be easily available, and 170 grain bullets should be easy to find, as should dies, and a Lee crimper, regular primers as well. This is the only rifle I use all winchester components, and they all work fine. IMR3031 is a great powder choice, and also easy to find.

32 special is a great caliber. Much like the 30-30 cal. I have resized 30-30 casings as they are almost the same except the neck size. i recommend the 170 gr jacketed with 30-31 gr powder, standard primers. Performed fine out to 200 yards in my carbine.

Thanks for the advice, but Marstar does not list any components in stock for the 32 spl. at this time.

I was looking to use BL(c) or Varget since I already have some, but I'll try to locate some IMR 3031. Heck, even Chuck Hawks recommends it!:p

IMR 3031 and Varget are close to being the same burning rate. I have used both in .223, but found it took more Varget by 2 grains to effect the same velocities. If you want to try varget, start at 28 grains and work up in 1/2 grains til your gun shows what it likes. i would not exceed 35 grains.

benchmark also

Higginson's powders have bullets, brass is common enough in 32 win.
I use varget and I love my .32.
I got a tang sight for my win 94 and it makes a huge difference, way better than buckhorns.

if you can't find 32 spl brass just run 30-30 brass through your 32 spl die and you are good to go.

Thanks, I had this in mind, but it's always good to know that it has been done before. :)

I did see that Higginson had .32 stuff in their listing, hope they have it in stock when I can manage to swing by. I drive my 18 wheeler by there at least once a week, but not always during buisiness hours...
