For those that are still reloading 8mm Mauser, where are you finding the projectiles?. I get that this is an old cartridge and not as popular as it's contemporary the .30-06, but all I seem to be able to consistently find is the Hornady 170gr soft points.

I have a quantity of the Norma 196 grain Dual-Core bullet. It works so good at 8mm
Mauser velocities. I am using Vihtavuori N550 or 100V as propellants.

The 180 Ballistic Tip is also a decent 8x57 bullet. I shot a fairly good size Black Bear
3 years ago with this bullet. It exited on a Broadside lung shot...he was DRT. Plenty
of damage to the lungs. With this bullet I have been using W760/H414. Dave.

I've used Sierra 150 gr. in my ugly old 8mm-06 to good effect on whitetail. I used them in the same rifle when it was still 8x57. I still have a small stash of them. I also cast my own for plinking and target practice. Keep a sharp eye at gun shows, as sometimes there are some good deals.

I think Jethunter makes a cast bullet the right diameter, if you’re looking for cheap shooting and don’t care about high velocity. They’re great for milsurp.

A former site sponsor that shall not be named has 8 x 63 Patron machine gun belts for pretty cheap. I bought a bunch and pulled the 218 gr. FMJs and reloaded 8mm Mauser with both the bullets and the powder with decent accuracy.
