IOoooh yeah

Row of ingots under the reloading bench is double stack deep ;)
60 ingots, 325 pounds, average 5.40 pounds per ingot. The tiny ingot is the end of the batch.
Good for 18346 124 grain bullets eh eh
Cost is less than 100$ :D

now you just need more primers and powder to 'power' all those ingots down range.
why don't you have a look at the picture just above the ingots, and see that I have 9 pounds of powder and 6000 primers? ;)
(and 3000 plated bullets....)
good for the year I hope

i did, and your short about 12k primers for the 18k lead bullets :)

but i'm in the same boat, more lead then primers/powder. i'm stocked up more then enough for my shooting needs (around 17k in primers) but i still want more like the rest of us lol.

what will you be casting calibre wise and what kind of molds do you have so far?

wallet crying issue
Seriously, I don't think I'll be shooting more than 6000 bullets any time soon, so I'm good for a year at least.
I would rather have more lead. lead will wtay there, good, piled up for longer than I will be there.
I stack up all I can.
I am a hoarder eheh

couldn't agree more!

If it was just me I would live in an ugly appartment and I would have at least 20 more guns
And I wouldn't spend 2000$ on house decoration, I need an AWM, and a S&W 357, and a jr carbine, and a target 22, target 22 mag, target 223, target 308, 338 LM, 50BMG, and the whole collection of counterstrike firearms I can get, starting with pistols.
Next one is the awesome HK usp tactical 45. Why? Because it was in counterstrike eheh. then sig p226, and desert eagle.
Oh, one day, when I am rich.

With a wish list like that, even when you are rich, you'll still be broke...... Trust me. ;)

You can never have too much lead. I'm trying to amass as much as possible while a cheap supply of lead is still available. When my next order of molds and other reloading supplies and accessories comes in I'll be all set for casting for all my firearms save the VZ58. Now the fun process of work up loads for all my rifles :dancingbanana: Have started with one of the SKSs and 45Colt loads for my H&R Survivor. Really impressed with the groupings I got last time I was at the range with the 45 especially.

I ran out of lead WW 2+ years ago.

I wish I can source some WW or cheap lead in the GTA. I probably can but I haven't tried since too busy lately. I still have a small amount of bullets left. But at my shooting rate, it should last me a few more years.

I'm drooling seeing your 300+lbs stash. Looks like gold to me. :p

Like the old saying goes buy land, their not making it anymore. Same as lead, buy it while you can.

There will always be lead, just not lead wheelweights. I have a feeling a lot of guys will grow old and die with huge stashes of unused lead tucked away, and their non- casting families will just take it to the metal recycler.

I just bought another 400+ pounds of ww today eh eh eh. Ingot day on monday if it doesnt rain
20$ per full 5 gallon, got 3, yuk yuk

I assume your getting it from the shops? I've wondered about standing outside a scrap yard with a sign saying 5 cents more then what the scrap yard pays.

The scap yard pays 35 cents here for ww
They sell for 60
I pay 15 cents a pound, or approx 20$ per 5 gallon. I go and pick them up. Sometimes they will argue for more, see if that is still ok for you. 30$ a 5 gal is still just 22 cents . 60$ for 400 pounds is an awesome deal though.
Note, even at 35 cents a pound, that is still way better than buying bullets... Thats 50$ per 5 gal though. Right now i would not pay more than 30$ per 5 gal. Usually 30-40% of the weight is iron, zn, and clips. Argue on that.

Note, most shops have noooo clue on the value. So just say you offer 20$ per5 gal and most will just accept.

Yes, i call tire shops. They could go sell at the junkyard but i guess they are too lazy or dont know the value. It took me a while to empty the bottom of that 55 gal drumm with gloves to fill the 5 gals in my car. Like one hour. So maybe they lost 60$ vs the scapyard, but my service of picking up their trash is worth more than 60$ to me so they got a good rebate on me . Fair deal.
