Hey everyone! Looking at buying a 325 wsm a bolt. Not sure if I should pull the trigger on it. I'm from way out in the styx and can only order online ammo most if the time. Can anyone give me any feedback on how easy it is to find this calibre? Also what prices am I expecting per box of ammo? Literally can't find it anywhere!!

Thanks

I handload for mine.
Lots of 300 or 270 wsm brass that is quick to size up to .325.
195 gr Hornandy at 2900ish ft / sec. (or load it down a bit if you desire)
MOA or better from my BLR
Very nice caliber, especially for a saddle gun.

So probably not for the guy who just wants to buy a couple boxes of ammo per year then?

I wouldn't recommend it if you don't hand load. I haven't seen 325wsm on store shelves (although I also haven't been looking) but last time I saw 270/300 wsm it wasn't cheap. I would only recommend the 325wsm to handloaders.

Check online, see what you can find for factory ammo and how much it'll cost. I suspect selection will be small and prices will be high. If I had to buy factory ammo I'd be looking for something a little more common - 338win mag for example or even a 300wsm or win mag. The 30cal magnums are pretty vanilla, but they certainly do their job on game or paper.

Edit - I just did a quick google search, found 4 places advertising it, all sold out, cheapest was $95/20. Seems likely that you'll have to get some ordered in for you, and with the current trends in availability being what they are (aka everything is sold out stateside) you might be waiting a while.

2 years ago there were sales around with 325 wsm rifles going for about 60 percent of regular calibers. Ammo was very scarce over 100$ a box if it could be found.

Currently in our store we have two 325 wsm loads from Nosler. Nosler 180 grn, ET (expansion tip, lead free)...$90 and Nosler 200 grn Accubond ...$93. Definitely a low interest round but we try to keep something in the odd calibers in stock. Personally I would only buy a gun in this caliber if I really loved that performance or if the gun was a smoking deal. I agree that this is a specialty cartridge and most owners would likely reload. Phil.

good to hear that Phil has some ammo.

I plan to reload for my 325WSM (Browning X bolt) and I am still working up loads for it.

Not a very common cartridge and I managed to get 200 brass a few years ago from out east when one of the stores closed out.

With that I think I'm set for life, its not really a rifle I'm going to take to the range every month and shoot a box of ammo out of.

Not having owned this caliber In a few years, I bought several boxes of Premium and had a few range sessions with the A-bolt in .325 wsm.
I had some brass and found a set of dies and then promptly sold it going in a completely different direction.
I liked the A-bolt and still do, just didn’t give me the warm fuzzies ...
I prefer the 300 WinMag ....
You might have to locate several boxes via the Internet and head out to the big smoke to pick it up.
Drumhellar isn’t to far from civilization as we know it, but it might require that special foray to get what you are looking for.
Sorry , not more helpful, but iffen you like that 8 mm round give her a spin at the dance.
Tight Groups,
Rob

$66 + for x20 rounds of Winnie 220gr stuff down under.... Not as crazy as some cartridges, expensive in Canada! maybe its premo stuff though, this was just grey box
