.325 wsm reloading stuff

Hey there, pretty knew to this forums but figured i would put my two cents in regarding the .325 wsm as there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of info on reloading for this cartridge.

First of all i shoot a Winchester Model 70 featherweight in .325. I picked up reloading because where i live ammo for this gun is REDICULOUSLY expensive.

After experimenting with various loads I found one thats gives less than 1" groups. It is alos right out of the Hodgdon reloading manual so ...here goes.

Bullet: 200 grain Nosler Accubond
Powder: IMR 4350 @ 65 grains
Case: Winchester
Primer: Federal Large Magnum Match GM215M
OCL: 2.860"

thats it, thats all I found this load for this rifle works perfectly or as close as I figure i need to get. I just found it difficult to really get my groups down and this load did the trick, i hope this helps.
 
Im starting over with my ladder testing do to loose scope mounts. working up from 63-65 grains of IMR 4350 and a couple with h414. I'm using the same bullets and brass but i'm using winchester primers. Same C.O.L. I'll post up my results.

how many FPS are you getting out of that?
 
i believe loose scope mounts was my original problem, then i just wasn't being precise enough with my testing/loading. Oh yeah i am getting around 2900 give or take.
 
yeah id say 65 gr. averages about 2880 or so not my chrony just a buddies, same bullets, and brass but i use federal primers...ive read people having good luck with just federal large rifle primers as opposed to the magnum primers.
Also some of the data ive been seeing shows that the less fps (below 2900 and above 2750) the more accurate, it seems the rifles almost tend to "sling" the bullets to the sides if you try loading too hot. Thats just what ive read, but i find that other recipe works awesome for me anyways
