325 WSM, who has em, how are they?

Isn't this a website for gunnutz? a newish round comes out that actually offers something new and people like to trash it?? I wouldn't call them true gunnutz

Great question!

Nope, it's a silly question.

Newish it is, but my point is it offers nothing at all new. What can you do with it that you couldn't do before it came out? Nothing. What does it do better than a cartridge we already had available? Nothing.

As for being a "true" gun nut, I guess if not rushing out and buying everything on the market, or if thinking about things and deciding a particular round does nothing at all that I can't already do makes me not "true", then I guess I'm not.

Of course, one can ask, what are you if you swallow every marketing hype ad as some sort of gospel, and then decide to call everyone who doesn't think like you "untrue" to the sport?

Come on! "I wouldn't call them true gunnutz"?? Good argument in favor of the round!

Maybe a bit of perspective would do some good. I freely admit, one of my goals in life is to NOT be "nutz" about anything.

IMO it offers the best balance of power, recoil and trajectory of anything out there. It's a very balanced cartridge. It shoots as flatter than my 358 Norma and kicks relatively softlike my 350 Rem Mag, all in a short and light weight platform. My new minimum buffalo caliber. It makes me smile.

If inflammatory statements like waste of powder are thrown about then heat is often generated on an open forum. Just another law of physics.

Does anyone know what the magazine length is in the WSM Browning BLR's is?
For OAL of the loaded rounds? I don't have access to one.

Not really answering your question, but my loads were most accurate (M70 bolt) 2.85 to 2.86" COL. Dont quote me, but I think factory loads are 2.82"

Good lord people. f:P:

The .325wsm is a cartridge fully capable of taking any North American game animal, and 98% of the World"s game animals. The same as 100 other cartridges. That's it. Move along.

For anyone that already owns a medium bore magnum, keep on truckin'. For anyone looking for a good capable round, here it is...

that sums it up very well.

the 325wsm topic has been beaten to death. But there's always a few "old fuds" that are opposed to something new.

But, but, will it kill them Fallow Deer on Sydney Island  ?
Teasin of course... I bought one in an A-bolt Ti and have yet to take any game with it.
It will do an inch and a half at 100yrds with 200grn accubonds (hand-loads) and no experience on further ranges as I was happy to get that result on the first outing.
Buying factory ammo can be a challenge, but I generally dont go further afield without 20 rounds and should I forget my ammo shame on me I wont stop my buddies from carrying on. I just volunteered for Camp detail.
Come on guys, the game we harvest dont care what we shoot them with, its only :nest: for the campfire stories at days end.
Shoot What you Bring is all I say.

hi

And what does that prove? Why put it that way? Who has to "beat" anything?

You could say just as well of the .338Win. , "I have the exact same rifle...what u say is the truth..Also" it will beat a .325"
in every way...everytime,, as expected"

What does that prove about the .325? Nothing. Such comparisons serve no purpose except to expose something about fearing "being too small".

The .325 does, in fact, slide in nicely between the .30-06 and the .338Win. in terms of "power" for big game. If you don't need it all the time, the .30-06 makes more sense. If you do need the power all the time, the .338 makes more sense. I just don't think we needed anything in that power level. There is nothing wrong with it, but .... what's the point?

Just say'in.

It's a great cartridge..so why would u try to make "sense" with the 30-06 or 338 ?? point is the 325 it's better than the 30-06 and we should have fun with it ..
