33 Nosler

The 35 sounds interesting. It's a sad world we live in when they have to design them so other rounds can't fit. I personally believe that's screwing with darwins law. If you can't figure out which round goes in what gun you shouldn't be shooting or breeding

Oh Nosler, you and your silly tricks.

The 33 Nosler is capable of propelling a 225 gr AccuBond at 3025 fps and the brand new 265 gr AccuBond Long Range at 2775 fps. That’s 275 fps faster than the 338 Win Mag using the same length action and 25 fps faster than the 338 Lapua at the muzzle while burning 18% less powder. The 33 Nosler is SAAMI approved and will be supported with ammunition and components from Nosler beginning Q1 of 2017.

Nosler will also be offering a Match Grade Ammunition offering for the 33 Nosler detailed below:

Nosler Match Grade Ammunition – 300gr Custom Competition HPBT – 2550fps at the muzzle

Straight from their load data.
24" 338 wm 225gr max 2882fps
24" 338 wm 300gr max 2432fps
Throw in an extra 50fps if comparing 26" barrels like the 33 Nosler.

26" 338 lapua 225gr max 3104fps
26" 338 lapua 300gr max 2750fps

Silly Nosler.

If this cartridge is faster than the 338 Lapua, then its due to it running at significantly higher pressure not due to its space age shape.

Always good to see new chamberings introduced.

Let's see.......338 Win Mag, 338 RUM, 340 Weatherby, 338-378, I'm sure there's a gap in there somewhere...:)
No actually there is not .338 Federal,.338-06 and .338 Imperial Magnum........Pete + Repeat..........2nd verse same as the first........Harold

If brass didn't cost a arm and a #### these rounds might gain some traction.

What brass other than .30-06 is cheap these days? Try and find some .338 Win Mag brass - the only one I can find that is actually available - right now - is Norma at almost $70/25. Times have changed in Canada.

Yes but for that same price you could buy two boxes of 338wm ammo, end up with 40 brass and some trigger time to boot.

.338 wm is more expensive than you think and appears to be an endangered species during hunting season in Prince George

The only box of .338 I saw in PG was Sako at Canadian Tire for $100/box of 20.

Ended up going through the hassle of necking up 7mm RM in order to keep my buddy's dad shooting.
