You can't prove anything though. You can make well educated guesses as to what is going on, but you can't prove it. The scientific method doesn't prove anything, it disproves stuff..

And that is a FACT I have shot lots with both those cartridges and never needed any more ! BUT I like rifles and different cartridges ! jmo RJ

I like different stuff too. Have Ruger MKII in 7 Mauser, Savage in 280 and 308, Win 94 in 3030, Enfield P14 in 303, 03A3 in 3006, ABolt medallion in 280, CZ452 in 22,etc etc plus the aforementioned 7mm Rem (Model 70 classic), and 338 Win (Very early Savage 110. Heck, I even have a Carcano carbine in 6.5 and I love em all.

I'm not afraid of the big bad electrical guy. If he's willing to set it off next to his face then I think he's probably good to go.

They'll sell some rifles out of the deal I'm sure. I don't think they will to me though.

30-40 yrs ago, may have seemed like a pretty good idea, these days, meh. Can't remember for sure, seems to me, the Imperial was based on a 404 case as well, it didn't become a hot seller at the time, as the Weatherby was around to fill that role. The only value to it really, is getting rid of the belted case, which isn't all that big a value.
