Just ordered up a set of dies for my 338-06ai.

Any suggestions for a bullet choice? I'm thinking something most likely between 210 and 225gr.

I usually go with hornady or sierra bullets since they seem to shoot pretty good for the price.

i would try out 210 swift scirrocos. not to bad in cost and work well. i also use nozler 200 grn ballistic bullets. very tough at 338 06 speeds and shoots very well in my rifle..took out the spine on a black bear last fall.shot too high. the 200 nbt went in, tore up the spine and exited.

I have tried many different bullets in my 338-06 and finally settled on the 210 TTSX. This bullet performs like it was designed expressly for the cartridge.

Exit wound from 338 210 TTSX launched at 2900 fps. Bull moose at 200+ yards.

Try the 210 TTSX and the 210 Partition. Use which ever groups best in your rifle. If one of those bullets will not stop an animal you need a lot more rifle.

I have something similar to the 338-06 AI. It is a 340 Gibbs. For bullets I have been using 200 grain Nosler Ballistic tips. Currently I am working up a load with the 225 grain Accubond.
