Buy a .30-06 you like, drop $130-$200 to have it rechambered and viola!
Really? Huh. I always thought you needed a .338 bore for a .338. And here all I needed to do is run a .338-06 reamer in a .308 barrel.

I am hoping your just a young man working on learning. What you would need to do is buy a 30-06 and have a pro rebore the rifle to .338. But not all steels are created equal, so pros won't touch certain barrels, and the people that do this in Canada are very few and far between (I can only think of Ron Smith).
You can end up with a good barrel this way.
The custom run of Rugers is a far better idea. Something in the African line would look really good.
Or a stainless laminate with open sights.
