I am planning a 338 edge build. Planning on using my savage 116 action for the build and was just looking for opinions on the idea

I plan on shooting targets, gophers, coyotes and deer with it
. yes on the brake, not sure what one. Planning a laminate target stock from richards and/or a McMillan A5 and a 30" McGowan heavy target. The rifle is factory chambered in 300 RUM so i dont see any issues doing the switch.

On second thought....drive bys will be out of the question. A 30" barrell will get caught in the steering wheel trying to get it out my truck window
But a 30" bbl will work great out the passenger window. Life is a series of trade offs. - dan
Dan i like the way you think. This should be a fun build, not sure if i will be able to test fire with my shoulder screwed up. We may have to include Captain Frank into the picture as a test pilot. If i remember correctly that is the rifle i made the over size action screw for, shouldn`t be a lot of difference as far as recoil as this will be heavier. Maybe you will have tro test fire afterall.

That is the rifle. It should be a lot tamer when we are done with it. I am thinking the weight will be about double plus a brake.
