338 Fed or 358 Win for elk?

Just a suggestion. Spend more time on where and how you are going to get that elk. They are sneaky buggers.

Most shots on elk we have had have been anywhere from 20-50 yards but would like a thumper that has a range of 200 yards.

Sounds to me that he knows exactly where he is going to get them...

I considered both and chose 338 federal pretty much because it would have more legs to get out a touch further for when id take it moose hunting.

Great Choice and there’s nothing wrong with the 358Win either JUST the 338 has a Better selection of bullets AND better longer range Ballistics ! RJ

Hahha yeah Im far cry from an expert....but a few have hit the ground. Sask forest elk are a tough hunt,,,as Im sure some of cgn sask guys can attest. Prairie elk...well that's a different story.
