Anyone have some good loads info on 338 federal.Thanks

Hi. You have to work up the load for your rifle. No two rifles will shoot the same ammo the same way.
I've always found whatever powder is given for the accuracy load in my old Lyman manual is a good place to start.

hogdons site has a bunch of load data im using 215gr sierras and h335.
start at 40 grains and work up. .89 best group, 2565fps

In all weights my Tika likes both H335 and Benchmark. A great round that is VERY accurate with some pretty heavy bullets.

My favorite is 46.0gr of XBR 8208 pushing a Hornady 200gr SST.
Clocks in just over 2600fps out of a 19" barrel, which is around 3000ft/lbs of energy.

I have used 8208 in many rounds and like it well. With that kind of speed out of the 338 I am definitely going to work up some loads with it for my 338 Federal. Thanks for the idea.

Try Benchmark, 8208xbr, TAC, H4895........or powders in that burn range

Ive settled on 185gr Barnes TTSX over 8208xbr in my 338f, for about 2750 fps
