338 Lapua 250 HPBT for Hunting

Hi Guys, has anyone used the Lapua Scenar HPBT bullet for Hunting? I am getting into long range shooting and was wondering if I can use the same Ammo for long range hunting as well

A couple friends tried them, and gave up real fast. There's not a lot of use using the big guns if deer aren't even going to look hit. 250-300 grain SMKs now, that's a different thing altogether.

The Scenars are great bullets, but in my little experience with them out of my 338LAI, I do not think I would try and hunt with them.
I have had tremendous success with the 300 gr Sierra Matchking on game, despite what many say including Sierra, they really work well at distance.
I believe the Scenar is a tougher bullet and may explain why the whistled through a couple of critters I tried to make dead.

How the 250s work I can't say as all I shoot are 300 gr.

If I were a bulletmaker that sold match bullets to nations that had signed the Hague convention, I would be down-playing the expansion characteristics of said bullets too.
