338 Lapua and US 869 powder?

Well I'm hoping I can get this powder to work seeing as I purchased a large quantity of it. With the wells run dry on all my usual favourites, I figured what the heck let's give it a whirl.

I've had really good results with 285gr ELD-Ms and RL-33 in the past, curious if anybody has comments or suggestions for this combination.

US869 with 250 ELD and 285 ELD worked good out to a mile.
Recipe's in both Hodgdons and Hornady books.

I’ve been using 104gr or US869 with 250gr SMK, 265gr ABLR and have had really results. My velocity has been 2854, 2852, 2850, 2852. So its consistent for me. Tested at 800M I was a little over MOA, so I’m going to work on seating depth next.

My next test load is 105gr with Berger 250gr OTM, Il post my results.

Thanks for putting my mind at ease since I could only get it in an 8 pound jug! I checked out Hodgdon's website for load data but they didn't list a loading for the 285 grainers. I'm thinking I can use the 300 gr load data as my starting point to make sure my rifle doesn't go kaboom? Or would it be better to extrapolate the starting load given 275 gr and 300 gr load data?

I was watching a guy at a gravel pit it was a semi auto in 338 can’t remember which make though..I remember the load he was using re -33 hornady 285 led and was getting 2600 FPS he said he was using hornady loaddata and got really impressive groups at 100
I think it was Alexander arms rifle ..what a beast of a rifle compared to my 220 swift

Here's what I used with the 285 gr Hornady. A very long OAL of 3.700" which was 30 thou off the lands.
