338 Lapua Hunting Bullet ????????

Hey everbody,

I received a spring grizzly draw and am wanting to take the lapau but have never hunted with it. So I am wondering if anybody has hunted grizz with theirs and what bullet have you had success with. I know many use SMK'S
but on a big grizz???? any help or advice is apreciated.

i use the 250gr barnsX....what ever you decide,use a premium bullet

Hey Mike,

My fav cartridge for anything bigger than deer. I have used just about everything in it buy one of my pet loads is a 225 grain Hornady spire point with 93 grs of reloader 22. Spits em out bout 3100fps. Now thats out of my TRG. Don't know what your shooting but it you want a heavy bullet bit slower try the 300gr Woodleigh. You can get them from Trade X. Used it successfully on Moose for the last 5 yrs. One shot kills out to almost 400 yrds.

Mike G, I have shot Moose with the Lapua and the Dakota and my favorite bullet is the 250 SBT Sierra but have also used the 250 Hornady, BUT I would not shoot at Grizzly with these bullets, they have both come apart on me shooting at moose so I don't trust them for dangerous game. My recomendation is the 250 Partition or the Accubond, these are the only two I have used and trust, there are other premium bullets I am shure others can vouch for.

Cool thanks I use the 200 grain NAB in my 300RUM. I will pick some 250 grainers up for the lapua and try them.

I agree with Peter...Have shot moose through and through out to 460 m with 338LM. 231gr Naturalis...very accurrate and hit like Thors hammer
