Agreed, neck turning yields the best returns on prep of brass but it is nice to know that if you spend a lot of time prepping, you won't have to cull as many out (i.e. wear, weight, etc) I won't even bother doing this level of work for Fed brass as I got burnt on it with 223 stuff (I got three loadings before the primer pocket was too loose to hold primers). When I first got into the reloading game I would spend days prepping brass - for very marginal returns now I just like the idea of getting some Lapua brass - chamfer the necks and start loading. If I am not consistent in the load work up I will start to play with the brass.
