Just wondering if the 4-14X44 FFP will handle the nasty recoil of a very light weight .338 Lapua. I built one for a bud and he wants to replace his old but perfect 4200 that looks like crap on a "tactical" rifle.

Also, how do you like the reticle size? Is it too small at 4 or too large at 14?

Cheers,
Rob

It depends of your muzzle break. Someone at Falcon optics told me that watching out at x14 cause it will be a bit dangerous cause the the eye relief
But I will try it with someone watching the recoil.^Put a baseball cap and the pad will help you to measure the recoil distance. Begin using it at low mag and upgrade slowly.

I have been using one on my 700P for a while and had no problems, although a friend of mine has one at well and wasn't careful and smacked himself in the eye. As for the scope its held up quite nicely.

The reticle is pretty good. I'm not sure I would get the FFP again. They make another model with a little more magnification (but not FFP) that I would probably like a little more. Overall, I really like the scope.

But Fury, its all the rage :D Thanks NG.

Not worried about the eye relief, just the reticle and if she will fly apart. I worked up a load with the 4200 which has notoriously short eye relief so the Falcon shouldn't be a problem. Besides, it isn't my rifle ;)

True, it is the rage. :)

Don't get my wrong, I like the scope very much, but the 4.5-18x would be my choice if I bought another one.

I hope it works well for your friend
