ok so heres situation i ordered me a rifle thats .338 lapua but i got basically everything i need to reload this except for sizing/case trimming the cases i have all lee equipment and lee doesn't make a length gauge n shell holder for .338 lapua. does anyone know where i might be able to get one or what else i could do

I would call Lee. They can make custom ones for cases that fit existing shellholders. They make a .416 Rigby holder for presses, but not the trim tool. The base is the same as most 338 Lapua brass so mybe they can do something for you.

The shellholder #'s, from RCBS, is 37 and 14.

If you are using Lapua you must use the #14 shellholder, but if you are using Hornady brass then the #37 is a tighter fit. This brass is too loose for the #14.

For trimming, go with an RCBS or Lyman case trimmer.

I had to make my own length gauge for Lee cutter, but if enough people ask Lee they could probably make it a standard catalog item.

From Lee website:

Case Length Gauges

Custom case length gauges can be made for cartridges that fit an existing shell holder. A list of calibers and their corresponding shell holders can be found in our catalog (page 24) or on the FAQ portion of our website under "Case Preparation" and then "Shell holders and calibers." While there is really no maximum caliber, the smallest we can make is .22.

We need:

1. Payment of $19.00 ($15.00 + $4.00 processing fee)
2. Desired trim length
3. Bullet diameter or a couple sized sample cases
4. Shellholder number
