Hey all
For those of you ss tumbling 338 lm
Are you finding the primer pockets are hard to clean??
Everything is the same as other calibers but pockets not as clean
Just wondering if anyone else noticed this and solved the problem somehow
Thanks
K

Do you deprime before cleaning?

I find Tide "cold water" laundry soap much better at cleaning then the Dove kitchen stuff plus you could try to tumble a little longer..
One other CGN user uses hot water instead of cold and swears by it..

Ill give the tide a try next time i tumble
They are Clean enough to load just not as Clean as other calibers
Thanks

I've found different primer's have a different "hardness" primer residue.
I do the first tumble for 4 hour's to get all case's as spotless as possible

Never thought of using Cold Water Tide. I've been using Dawn Ultra Original Scent with excellent results including 338LM. I'll try Tide too. Thanks.

Another CGN member mentioned it I tried it and he was right..quicker to clean and you spend less time rinsing a pain with kitchen dish soap

In my experience, it seems that with larger brass, you have to either do smaller batches, or tumble longer....
Gonna try the Tide thing too, thanks for that silverfoxdj.

Welcome I found it really was an improvement, thanks go to Slavex who put me on to it.. we help each other here:cheers:

I use hot tap water, Sunlight dish soap and Lemishine. I do find rinsing to be a bit much but it also helps rinse out all the crud in the pins.
