I finally got to test out my Ruger .338 that I got from Doug of course with some H-1000 with good results, I picked up some 250 grain Winchester Silvertip's from Dizzy Dan and some H-1000 from another local gunnut John Brennan. I never chronied the load but it had lots of accuracy and lots of whomp. Whomp is my technical term for recoil.

77 grains H-1000
250 grain Silvertip
Federal Magnum Primers
Next time the range I will have to borrow the chrono and run these over it.:)
I would be happy with 2500 fps or there abouts, :D

Hodgdon lists 2622 fps with 76 gr of H1000 at 46,500 CUP out of a 24" barrel.

338

 Hey TB, my 338 is a Ruger Mk11 Stainless, scoped up with a 3x9 x40 Bushnell Elite 3200. :) I was out again with it testing the 225 Hornady's. :D They shot into an inch at 100 yards easily , almost boring but the recoil says not.

I have a Bell & Carlson Titanium stock on it now, and Talley mounts :D Its 3/4 lb lighter  Recoil with 200 gr. Ballistic Tips / Varget weren't bad at all, but I never chrony'd them.
