338 Win from 7mm Rem brass

Has anyone here done this? does the neck end up too thin to work properly? 7mm brass is much more available than 338 brass. Incorrect HS would not bother me.

I've done it. Worked fine. I used federal brass only because it's what I had on hand. I didn't have any issues with mine.

I have blown out several hundred 7mm RM to 338 WM, never has a problem with them. I like to fireform them as the neck comes out more uniform. How much 338 you looking for as I probably have several hundred, I'd have to look cause my kid had one for a while so I may not have all the brass I used to have.......if you know what I mean..........

Ah wait, I see you are in the US......that may be a problem..........not sure how your Homeland would take to this kind of shipment..............

Doug, you can ship them to the states, it's getting them back out that's the problem. I have shipped many ITAR items south, you just can't EXPORT them from the states.

If you have to, it's easy enough to fireform them using the COW method. Although the 338 WM is pretty common, surprised you cna't find brass.

I HAVE BEEN ROBBED !!!!!! have looked everywhere and all I can find is 50 primed 338 WM cases............I know I had 200 W-W once upon a time but I suspect I know where they went...........Let me check with #1 son as he doesn't have a 338 anymore and I suspect he has 2 or 300.............I'll get back to you on that. Are you fussy about make of brass?

Load as a 7mm RM... insert in 338 chambered rifle ...pull trigger ...VOILA, 338 WM brass.

Kid says he has looked everywhere and doesn't seem to have any at all, which I find odd, however he doesn't have 10% of the stuff to look through as I do, so he probably doesn't.

I just thought of one more spot to check in my stuff........I'll get back later today.

You can also just run it through a 338 die, same result. Take a look at a reloading manual and compare the dimensions of the two.
