Ok,
Well I am going to take the recently scoped 338 out today. I have a few boxes of ammo to try.
I have the Winchester made "combined technology" accubonded 225 grainers.
A box of cheap 225 grain hornady soft point. and 7 federal high energy 250 grain nosler partitions. (more on these in a sec...)
So for all around I think the accubonded from winchester will do the trick, I also have a 300 win mag for smaller things like deer. Anyhow, I would love to get some factory loaded 225 or heavier barnes-x loaded ammo, any ideas???
Now back to the 338 federal high energy. Couriously it is not being manufactured anymore. (so if you have some keep it or if you don't want it sell it to me... box code P338D ) I think they are not making this because the ballistics and energy were better then their own designed, recently released caliber the 338 federal.....
thoughts, opinions ??
