Hello, I thought I throw this out there in hopes that it will save some time, money, and materials. I recently aquired a Tikka T3 in .338 Win Mag. I have lots of bullets(various brands and weights) and numerous suitable powders as I load for both a .340Wby and .338Lapua among other magnum calibers. Was wondering if anyone found a great load utilizing 225gr. Accubonds, or Interbonds. I have these in abundant supply as the .340 didn't take to either. Also have lots of 225gr. Barnes and 250gr. partitions. If your Tikka shoots any of these well I'd appreciate hearing of it.

Thanks.

I've tried the 250gr Sierra GameKings but didnt have much luck with them. I'm now shooting the 225 Interbonds and they seem to group a whole lot better. Not sure of what Im getting for speeds but while working up loads I'm around 68-70gr of H4350.

Another that was extremely effective was Nosler 250 Partitions, 72.0 grains of IMR 4831 for 2750 fps. This was a max load, and not to be fired if the temp was in the 50 degrees + range. The load came from an older Hornady book, and they have since backed off. I got under 2 inch groups and 200 meters and let me tell you, "It would taken the head off a grouse slicker than snot . . ."

Thanks for the tips. I'm starting to assemble some loads today and will try a couple of these. Hope to range test when the weather is more agreeable.

I also used H4831and Fed 215M primers, but with 250gr Partitions. Depending on the rifle you should be able to get in the +2750fps range with good accuracy.
