338 win

Possibly with AA5744, depends how low recoil you want to go. Check Accurate's site for a load, if nothing showing, e-mil Western Powders and ask them if they have any aa5744 or other loads for 200gr. If they have them , they'll give them to yuu.

A friend has always used a mild load with the Speer 200gr Hot Cor bullet from the old Speer Reloading Manual with good results in his Browning BBR. Can't recall which powder at the moment, but will ask him the next time we talk.

Hodgdon Data Manual, 25th edition:
H4895 - 200gr jacketed bullet, start load 55gr; max 60gr
Using Hodgdon's H4895 reduced load formula, 60% of 60gr = 36gr minimum load, and can work up from there.

thx i will try , what happened i got a 100 box of hornady 200 gr flat point for 33 winchester, so i wondered what can i do with my 338w with those bullets that are designed for 2200fps ,, why not ,,, lol

My friend cannot recall his exact load off hand with the 200gr Speer, but believes it was with IMR4831. It shot much tighter groups than the mild load of IMR4350 did in his rifle. It has been many years since he loaded a batch for that rifle due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He's only able to shoot firearms chambered to small varmint cartridges anymore.

Likely NFG as I don't think this powder is made any longer but Speer #10 manual SR4759 25gr/1600fps 27gr/1740fps 29gr/1866fps 200gr Spitzer
