338 WM and 275gr Swift A-Frame

Reduced barrel length

• today chronographed buddy's 20" barrel .338 WM Sako AIII / 225gr Barnes VOR-TX ammo
• as expected muzzle speed loss ~100 fps compared to 24" barrel

I usually use heavy for caliber bullets for most big game, just an old rule from back when bullets weren't as well made. But in my 338 WM I went the other way and usually used the Nosler 210 partition. Could push it to 2900 easily and that bullet has always worked well on game up to moose. I tried the Speed 275, but really only considered it useful in bear country. - dan
