I have One question for you Long Range Canuck?, Are you a GunSmith, if yes How long?
Because I have gone and talk to more than One gunsmith on this matter already, and Karl at K&S arms already asure that it could happen, now are you a gunsmith or BandWagon Jumper?

Sure...

Sorry, it's an AR-30M...forgot the M. It won't win any beauty contests, but it's probably one of, if not the most affordable .338LM factory offering.

Gunboy, I am no gunsmith. And you have to lighten up as I see you have no sense of humour what so ever.:(

I to have heard you can modify the boltface on a .300RUM to a .338LM. My question is why not just go out a buy a .338 action rather than modifying and in my opinion weakaning a Remington action. And if a modified Rem 300RUM action was strong enough to handle the .338 why wouldnt Remington just do it themselves rather than spend a load of dollars on R&D for a new action specifically for the .338LM if all they had to do was turn down a .300RUM action to start spitting out rifles.

No Im no gunsmith, but nor are you and It doesnt take a rocket scientist to read between the lines and say to himself is this a real good idea?

I don't think we can get these in Canada anymore......the state Dept won't let it threw:mad:

Gunboy&LRC play nice and go :bigHug: and make out:adult:

the only way I would use a 338 out of a 700LA is to neck up the 300RUM leave the bolt face alone one might be able to open to the 338LM bolt face but there sure as hell will not be much meat left behind...for that option I would pass

Please don't take serious of what I said, I do have a sense of Humor, Like I said, I have talk to 2 gunsmith in town, and one of them was Karl, K&S and at the time I talk to him, he did a couple of the bolt face for the 338 lapua, and show me one of them in his hand, there seem to be still quite abit of metal, and he reasure me that it alright, as of info coming from Reminton it a liable question, ofcourse they had to be careful about what they say, because it liable when anything happen and it might come back to them, I don't really think that it practicle but it posible with a compatent gunsmiths. I do think going the 338Rum is practical with the 300rum bolt face because is the same size...
Now to do the 338Lapua, it would cost acouple of hundred more to get the Sako TRG-s action over the rem700LA, but there aren't many of those around, the only place to find it is at a gunshow...

Most of it has to do with the fact that Canada is a " crime control" country, which in non political jargon means the US trusts our government about as much as N Korea, SO in order to ensure we don't arm up much with bigger hi tech weapons, they won't allow any out of the US.
No 50s, no Barretts regardless of caliber, no New Designed Armalites, no zero stop Nighforce scopes, and the list goes on adnauseum.

i'm not gonna wait around for any of tht american #### i think the sako is just as good anyway to be honest with u guys i prolly won't buy another american gun for a long time

Uh-huh, nice to see such an open-minded and unbiased opinion. Good to know you take the time to educate yourself on the facts and performance of a gun before making a judgement.

You've just invalidated all of your opinions as uneducated and uninformed bullcrap to the rest of us.
