Got my new stock today, put everything together. Will take better pics when I get time. Sako Hunter, 50/50 green/grey, 700 XCR DM .338WM, VXII-3-9x40 LR...

I thought the grey would be a little darker, but I'm happy with it...Now to give it a test drive. I've got about 8 different bullets to run in it...

I was also going to go with a "greenish" color of stock. Let us know how it shoots.

I'm not sure I like the colour mix but any McMillan stock is a good stock. I have three myself, one swirly and two camo.

I was expecting the grey to be a charcoal colour, but I would call it medium grey myself. Hard to envision how things will turn out from a 1/2" coloured square on their site...At any rate it was the custom fit and feel I was after, and when you pick this one up and hold it, everything comes together...

I was going to knock the barrel down a few inches, but may leave it as is...

So I after getting this together, I was getting the urge to build a custom .338-06 again...Began parting this one out, sold the stock and was getting around to selling the barreled action.

I had bought another McMillan with the intention of using it for my build, but decided to slide the XCR into it for a range session. Now I'm not sure if a build would give me any better results than this one?? Might just have to keep it!

Too bad about those "patterns" it shoots. You should immediately sell it to me cheap because of the lousy groups.
