33mm[1 5/16''] eyepiece ?

I know my older compact leupold has a 33mm eyepiece-does anyone know if the older fixed 2 1/2 x leupolds have the same diameter eyepiece? and-what about other scopes?-I am going to be limited to no more than 1 5/16'' so my mauser 96 bolt[ground to fit] can slide by.
 
so-is there any way of sorting out what the diameter of eyepiece by model of scopes -or is it a question of checking each one?ie-old leupold compacts have a 33 mm eyepiece
