hello all

I recently acquired a H&R 348 gamester from an auction, 12 gauge bolt action fixed full choke and I took it out to shoot this weekend. I took it apart to give it a good cleaning before I went out to shoot it and found some interesting things, first was the left hand ejector does not look like it came from the same gun or model as this one. Then when shooting it I bought some fresh ammo as I did not have any 2 3/4" 7/8 shot (I run 3") so I went to TSC and all they had was the grey box Winchester :bangHead: I have never had luck with Winchester ammo as it ALWAYS jams my 870, my buddy's 870 and my wife's BPS but I was in a pinch so I got it.

I got out to the range and when we went to fire it, the first round went in great, I racked it (before firing) and the second round popped up but would not slip into the ejectors.it sat in front of them and started to feed in crooked. It was a hit an miss deal of about 50/50 for feeding in correctly or not.

after I fired it the bolt was VERY hard to flip up and bring back AFTER it has fired, before firing it is smooth as can be and once the shell is out it goes smooth again.

so to sum up
#1 I think I need to replace the left ejector (any idea on how to remove it?)
#2 It will sometimes feed crooked (could this be ammo or ejector related?)
#3 after firing the bolt is Very stiff

thoughts?

I can't help with the ejector (d you mean extractor?)but what is the bolt like to open if you either dry fire it or close the bolt while holding the trigger? It is probably a #### on open so if it feels the same as when fired then it may need some lube to help #### the firing mechanism. If it is not similar then maybe it doesn't like that ammo. Just a thought.
