In the past I had a .348 Winchester.Sold it.,but of late have been planing on getting another one. When I do, I would like to cast bullets for it.

Just wondering if any one has used the Lyman 350447 187 grain mold or the RCBS 348-200, 200 grain mold?If so ,what are their comments on the use of these two cast bullets?

Are you going to be getting a Winchester or Browning?
I have a Browning and the leade is a bit short for longer or heavier boolits.
I had a custom mold made for me by LBT, and I'm not sure he's still in business, or even stll alive,
I did a chamber cast and sent it to LBT and he cut and nice two cavity mold for me.
Drops right at 200 or 210 grains. Been a while since I cast any for it

The rifle I plan on getting at some point ,will be a Winchester.

Here’s some pics of what your looking for , I have used the 350319 it comes out at 173 gr with wheel weights , the 350447 comes out pretty close to 187 with wheel weights
I used the 350319 for my 351 winchester works great , but I have to try and powder coat them , I think it will be better
Haven’t got around to using the 350447 in my 348 win yet though, I see no reason why it wouldn’t work though.

Thanks for the replies .All interesting ideas. At present I have not replaced my old Model 71,so no hurry for myself getting molds, other than those I am looking for. When I replace the rifle,if I have not found the molds I really want,I will check out in more detail ,the molds you fellows have spoken of.

Thank-you for the time and insight to the Accurate and Old West molds.:)

I think Veral is still alive and kicking down near Moyie Springs. But he had a catastrophic fire at his place about three years ago and lost everything. He decided that was the end of mould making, but he does sell copies of his book on cast bullets.

Mountain Moulds disappeared close to ten years ago, and Swede at NOE just put a notice up on his web page in July that he is selling all remaining stock and retiring.

Happily, Tom at Accurate Moulds is not only still going strong but has also brought in a partner and some new workers so he's expanding.

Tom has made me five moulds of my design and to my specifications, and the bullets they drop are perfect and the measurements of the bullets they drop are perfect. His custom moulds to fit your rifle are pretty much perfect, and the best part is they don't cost all that much more than off the shelf moulds. He will also cut two (or three) different cavities into one mouldZ
