I have my father's old Marlin 336sc in .35 Rem. It's a early 1950's vintage carbine and is very light,and easy to carry. When he was in his later 60's and 70's I loaded 158 gr cast semi wadcutters to reduce the recoil so he could shoot it.
Damn, that would be a great bush rifle for moose, wouldn't it?
How did they work out on game?
The .35 Rem has a .460 rim diameter contrary to the "standard" .473. ...I tried .35 Rem ammo in my Savage when it was still a .308 Win and the extractor would not reliably catch the rim of the cartridge....
