.35 Remington for Moose

Use 200s not 150s I'm thinkin. Doesn't have lots of power to spare but certainly enough "thump" in the hands of a seasoned hunter. Handloaded the 220 Speer FNs can up penetration on the big stuff.
...there are certain geographical pockets in which the .35 Remington enjoys some measure of popularity -- in the deep southeast, where black bear and hog hunters get into the swamps and thickets deep in the heart of Dixie. The cold, snowy woods of Maine have some big-bodied whitetails (not to mention fat black bear and the occasional moose). These are areas where hard-core hunters work the woods for tough, smart animals, and need a quick-handling, reliable, medium-bore thumper to anchor them quickly.

cant be any worse than a 30-30, which has killed alot of moose over the years

within its range limitations it should keep the freezer full

not exactly the type of cartridge I'd take on a Yukon hunt though...

it will not kill a moose.

moose are SUPER TOUGH!

YOU NEED TEH_MAGENUM!!!

nothing less then a 300 ultra mag will kill a moose
LOL .............

I know a couple very experienced moose hunters from Northern Ontario who think it's a great moose round. One has a .30-06 as well but says he really can't see any difference in effectiveness in the brush where he hunts.

Heavy, slower bullets penetrate very well. Think freight train.

also, medium weight, fast bullets that are designed stout penetrate well. Think meth crazed junkie in a stolen Chevy Celebrity going full throttle through a special needs picnic, while being chased by the police

ROFLMAO :)

A buddy hunts with one. I think maybe keep the range more like 100 or less, but i'm sure it'd kill a moose pretty dead. (think moose-roast with mushroom gravy and taters!)

At appropriate distances with precise placement it'll do just fine. Mind you, you could say the same thing of just about every cartridge out there. Bigger/more powerful cartridges give you somewhat more 'wiggle room' around the 'appropriate distance' and 'precise placement' qualifiers

If title is changed to " 7.62x39 SKS on deer and black bear", the response will look exactly the same. ;)
