I had it in my head that I was going to take this ammo moose hunting with me this year. But I have been reading some not so great things about the bullets breaking apart/ almost exploding and damaging a lot of meat, also the round itself jamming in 336's mag tubs. Anyone used these on anything bigger then deer or blackies and have an opinion to share?

No need to use that special ammunition in your 35 Remington.
The standard ammunition with 200 grain round nose bullets is ideal for any game you will shoot in Ontario at shorter to mid ranges, say to approaching 200 yards.
If you reload you can use 200 grain round nose Hornady bullets.

My biggest problem is the Leverevolutions are all I can find right now, got a couple boxes at Triggers and Bows down the road from me. I've checked sail and Lebarons with no luck and crappy tire here does not have a great selection. Also can't seem to find any local reloading supplies for the 35 either.

The best performance against big game from 35Rem cartridge is from 200gr Rem RN bullet,180gr FN Speer and especially 220gr FN Speer bullets.
IMHO nothing else compares to those in my experience.
Now I use 220gr Speer FN with heavy charge of LeverRevolution powder for 2150fps with excelent accuracy from my 1,5x scout scoped JC Higgins for anything that walks in the bush.

The Speers 220gr is what I would like to have if I had some dies and brass and well everything;) I'm hoping to be able to track down everything I need to reload for the 35 before the season opens but as things look right now that may not be possible.

I have 3 bags (150 pcs) of new winchester brass. pm me if interested. The dies I need but they should not be hard to find as should the bullets. I had a hard time finding brass so I bought a lot.

I have had experience with the leverevolution on big deer only ,thankfully there was snow and it was easy to track .Don't get me wrong they do shoot incredibly accurate but it ends there

Ishot a deer @ 90 yards with a 308mx Marlin the biggest fragment was 45 grains no pass through

I was told the 338 mx was tougher ,I did not find the mass of the bullet but grenade effect was best describing the chest cavity of the deer

Many will say The deer is dead ?

I can tell you all FTX bullets I own are to be used on paper or coyotes only

Ken

PS the 220 grain from speer is a great round ,for the 35 rem I have loaded 50 rounds@ 2150 fps and shoot great

I have been using federal ammo 200g soft point for last few years....very happy with it. Bought at wholesale sports they have always had some in stock. Lots of real life experience close range it has held together.

Also I can send you some w-w, linotype and 50/50 solder to start.
