35 Whelen IMP target

Was out playing the other day and am impressed how good the old girl still shoots. This is my second whelen and both have shot this good when I can hold it that steady. Scope is an old bushnel 2.5x8 scopechief BDC

3/8" x4 shots 5th openned it to 3/4" @ 100 meters.

250 gr speer hot core
IMR 4320 powder 57 grs
Chron at 2565 fps

As the story goes this rifle came from Alaska to WhiteHorse to Kamloops where I got it in about 1985.

Thanks Derrick for those pics and load info - and good shooting too. It's sure nice when a rifle is boringly accurate year after year. I've got a few like that and others a bit more tempermental.

Once again a 35 Whelen rifle distinguishes itself with accuracy, efficiency and some fairly serious hunting horsepower at the muzzle using only the plain jane 30-06 parent case - this the type of performance every BIG critter hunter dreams of.

I sure love mine...a Remington 700 Classic, and it shoots pretty much exactly like that too.
