I know it doesn't offer the incredible BC's or 3000+fps muzzle velocities that are popular today but are any members here using one? If you are what are you hunting, what is your rifle, optics and what loads are you using?
I talked member here SuperCub out of his and while I may not hunt with it this year it is wearing a vari xII 2-7 and I'm loading up a few 225 grain gamekings and 250 Hornady's to see if either will shoot. It may come for a deer hunt or for black bear once that opens in September. No Moose hunting for me this year.
Built on a remington action, stainless barrel and a B&C stock.

I have a .35 Whelen that I build a few years ago. A stainless Ruger MKII with a 22” Bevan King barrel chambered and installed by one of our gunsmith. Used to be in a McMillan stock and wore a Leupold VX2 3-9x40. I shoot 225 gr TSX at 2700fps in that one but it also shoot 250gr Speer and Hornady in tiny groups. Shot a bull moose with it. The McMillan has now been swapped with the Hogue and residing on my .375 Ruger. It has been sitting in the safe for the last few years because as a true Gunnutz, I have a hard time using the same rifle every season and it has been taking a backseat to my .300 WSM and .375 Ruger for my last few moose.

Nosler M48 Outfitter in 35Whelen, Bushnell Elite 6500 1.25-8x32 and using both the Remington 200 or 250 grain CoreLokt & Nosler Custom ammunition.

Smoked two black bears so far... Love it!

Cheers

I had one and have kicked myself for selling it. I had a Remington 700 CDL, dropped into an HS Precision stock, and topped with a Leupold VX3 3-10X40 B&C reticle. It was easy to carry, pleasant on the shoulder, and an amazingly accurate combination. I liked the Remington 200 grain shelf loads but was working on a 225gr load. Only ever used it on an elk and a gopher. I want to build the same rifle again.

35 whelen owners ... if they do own a 9.3x62 this is what they are dreaming of lol ....

if i didnt have a 375 and a 375 ruger i might have one.

maybe a 7600 carbine 35 whelen ....

I have a 35 Whelen H&R Handi rifle I picked up a couple years ago and I used it last year to get my white tail. It has a Leupold VX3 2.5-8 on it and that seems to be just about perfect for my needs. I used Hornady Superformance 200gr and IIRC I was getting about 2940fps out of the handi rifle. I picked up a few more boxes of the Hornady ammo as Wholesale was blowing it out last fall when they shut down so that is what I will feed it for the foreseeable future. The recoil isn't that bad on that little rifle. I really like the cartridge. I think I may need a Rem 700 in the 35 Whelen at some point.....

Currently working on my build:
Savage 111 action with standard AccuTrigger
Shilen stainless 24" barrel in 35 Whelen (obviously)
PTG detachable bottom metal
MDT pic rail and Premier 30 mm rings
Leupold VX-R 3-9x40

I currently own 3. I built one on a Savage 111 action a few years back. I used a Shilen 22 inch heavy sporter barrel with a 1-14 twist. It’s crazy accurate (most accurate gun I own). Shoots 225gr TSX with IMR 4064 into 1/2-3/4 inch groups at 2650 FPS. I also shoot 200 grain FTX bullets with IMR 3031 into less than than. It really shoots everything well. My Remington 7600 carbine on the other hand is no where near that accurate. It’ll shoot the first 2 ok then spray the next. Still a hoot to shoot and great for hog hunting in an elevated stand. My third is a Ruger No 1a. Once I found that one my No 1 in 9.3x62 moved down the road. Only down a couple loads for it but everything is pointing to 1-1.5 inch groups. The whelen is truly awesome. Takes down game great. Forgiving to reload. If your shoot factory, the Superformance is the real deal. It does chrono over 2900fps in my bolt. Have fun with your thumper!

Id love one in the traditions outfitter g2 series. If that doesnt pan out ill prolly build on a savage action. 250 savage and 416 taylor are on the list first though

I have had several Whelen rifles... all Rugers, a couple M77-RS MKII's, an M77-R MKII, a No.1-S and my only current Whelen is a No.1-A, which in my opinion is by far the best of the bunch... such a sweet carry. They have all shot very well with the Hornady 250 SP's, but this No.1-A has a particular fondness for the 200 RN, so that is what it will be spitting at deer this fall.

Shot my Muskox with a 35 Whelan built on a BSA action, also have a BDL in 35 Whelen. I’m a big fan of all 35 caliber rifles
