35 Whelen Sierra 225 BT Insane Load Data published by Sierra

So I downloaded the Sierra Reloading App 6th Edition to find some pretty incredible load data. In particular, they list 2 max loads that push a 225 Sierra BT in the 35 Whelen to 2900 fps!! They use CFE 223 and Power Pro 2000 MR. They also list numerous powders that get this bullet to 2800! This data lines up with some of Speer’s new data in the Whelen using PP 2000MR, but the Sierra pushes harder. I have never found Sierra’s data to be overly optimistic (like Nosler’s) so I am eager to see if this is real. If I can get near to this velocity it may render my 35 Sambar and 358 Norma superfluous... at least until some “magic” powder is found for them.

That data produced velocities as advertised with CFE223 in a Rem 700. I backed off to 2750 with 250 gr partitions. No pressure signs but felt recoil rose enough that my follow up shot time was effected. Ended up within 1/2" POI of my 225 Sierra load. Very happy with the results.

Remington chambers are typically with a long throat. The magazine is often the limiting length factor, not the chamber. Lawyers desiged the chambers.
