I'm about to start handloading for my .35 Whelen. I'm going to go with the Nosler Partition bullet (250gr). I'm using .35 Whelen Remington Brass with Remington primers. The rifle I'm using is a Remington 700BDL. I understand that Reloader 15 is the best for this cartridge but I have a lot of BL-C(2) around and was thinking of giving it a try. Anyone try this powder? I would be happy with 2500fps. Any comments.

Reloader 15 is superb in this cartridge, I use 59g behind a 250g speer in my 7600. Accurate and fast. I have seen load data that seems way to hot using Bl-C2, comparing burn rates of it to the data used for other powders. I would use extra caution approaching max loads with Ball C, but hey if you got lots of it give it a try it definately falls in the proper spectrum for burn rates and the Whelen.
Good luck, Homesteader

I use 60gr of RL-15 behind a 250gr Hornady SP for 2600-2650 fps (chronographed) and .75" groups out of my Rem 7600.
I use necked up Win 30-06 cases and so far have reloaded 3-4 times without having to ditch any cases.
Let us know how you do with the BL-C2 and perhaps I'll try some too.
I have a bunch of Win 748 on hand that I want to experiment with sometime.
Good Luck
John
